UNODC provides specialised training for the Iranian Anti Narcotic Police

  

Tehran, December 2022 – The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Iran, in coordination with the Drug Control Headquarters (DCHQ) of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, organized a specialised training at the Shaghayegh cultural complex in Tehran, from 03 to 07 December 2022.
This training workshop which was attended by 60 Officers from the Iranian Anti-Narcotics Police (ANP) was envisaged to support and enhance capacities of the Iranian ANP for investigation of drugs related crimes. This was the second training provided by professional Russian senior instructors from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

This training which was designed to cover topic related to "Modern Methods of Drug Trafficking Control" was well received by the participants and assessment of the evaluation of the training workshop and feedbacks received from the participants evidently indicated that the subjects covered by respected instructors were relevant to their expertise and expectations and in general the training session has been rated as strongly fruitful and beneficial. 


As it was stated in the opening statement by UNODC Country Representative, Mr. Alexander Fedulov, while appreciating the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in fight against drugs, UNODC intends to provide specialised trainings, amongst other activities, with the purpose of capacity building and increasing the knowledge of the Iranian Law Enforcement entities.
The event was organized as part of the activities foreseen in the framework of the Sup-programme 1 “Border Management and Illicit Trafficking” of UNODC Country Partnership Programme (2015-2022) for the Islamic Republic of Iran through the generous donation of the Russian Federation. It is hoped that with kind cooperation of the Russian Federation it would be possible to hold similar training workshops in the future.
